One seed at a time

I would like to introduce you to this new page in our website.  “Starting the Harvest” is a ministry that has been started by our grand-daughter, Tiffany Jaramillo, to help with the hunger situation around the world.  I trust you will be as excited about her ideas as we are, and support and encourage her as she follows God’s leading and direction in her life.

Dr. Paul Olson

Hello my name is Tiffany. For a couple of years I’ve often asked myself, is there anyway I can help change the world for the better? Am I too young to make a difference? I prayed about this for years and God really placed “Starting the Harvest,” in my heart. For many years we all walk by the homeless, lost, and hungry and what do we do? Nothing. It is my belief that we need to feed the hungry before we can give them the gospel, without food how will they feel like there is hope? 1 Timothy 4:12 says “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” So lets make a movement to help stop world hunger!

What we’re planning on doing through this new exciting ministry that Refuge CMI has started is feed the hungry. What many people don’t know about foreign people is, if you plant seeds for people in that country the people will see it as “The Americans food,” and as a result won’t eat it. People in different cultures plant differently than you or I do. This is an opportunity to start seeing how others plant and start their harvest. What I plan to do with every donation we receive is purchase the seeds in the country that we’re planning to HELP start the harvest in. The next step is to help them plant it the way they plant seeds in their traditional style.

In return we start feeding the hungry and get a taste of other cultures out there that make up the hands and feet of Christ.

With every donation we hope to send a seed packet to you in hopes that you are able to start your harvest as well. Details will be posted soon and I can’t wait to see what we can do to help serve Gods Kingdom!
